We have founded several successful companies, and have a deep understanding in aging, genetics and predictive analytics. We collaborate closely with world-leading experts on building prediction algorithms based on epigenetics and DNA methylation measurement techniques and have gathered an interdisciplinary team of accomplished researchers and developers - both in the company Age Labs and among our collaborators from the private and public sector.

André is a seasoned business leader with more than 25 years of CEO experience from large Norwegian companies and scale-ups in tech, IT and consumer goods. His focus is primarily strategy and business development, incl. partner development and commercial topics, as well as organizational development and funding. He holds a B.Sc.(Hons) in Management Sciences from University of Manchester, Inst. of Science and Technology.

Scientific Advisor (OUH)

John Arne is a research group Leader at the Clinic for Laboratory Medicine at Oslo University Hospital. His group works on genome and epigenome regulation in embryo development, aging and disease (Dahl et al., Nature 2016; Søraas et al., Aging Cell 2019). Aging related projects focus on stem cell aging, rejuvenation after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in healthy humans, and cancer. He holds a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Oslo.

Espen A. Haavardsholm is the center director of REMEDY (Center for treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases), Professor in Rheumatology, UiO and Head of Research and Innovation at Diakonhjemmet Hospital (EULAR Center of Excellence). In 2008 he received the the King’s Gold Medal for his Ph.D., as well as a EULAR Young Investigator Award in 2009. Since then Espen has focused on treatment of rheumatic diseases, and initiated several large multicenter studies investigating novel treatment strategies.

​Siri is the deputy director of REMEDY (Center for treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases), a senior researcher and Unitlead for Clinical Research at Diakonhjemmet Hospital (EULAR Center of Excellence). Siri is a Medical Doctor with a PhD focusing on joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis. Siri has studied at Harvard School of Public Health. In 2022 the Norwegian Medical Association (NMA) awarded Siri for her work as first on the ARCTIC REWIND study published in JAMA.

Silje is the Head of the Norwegian society for rheumatology, and works as a senior rheumatologist and postdoctoral researcher at REMEDY (Center for treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases) and Diakonhjemmet Hospital (EULAR Center of Excellence). Silje´s PhD focused on how RA biomarkers can predict joint destruction. Her current fields of interest are therapeutic drug monitoring, biomarkers, autoantibodies, clinical treatment studies, epidemiology.

Guro is a senior rheumatologist and postdoctoral researcher at REMEDY (Center for treatment of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases) and Diakonhjemmet Hospital (EULAR Center of Excellence). Guro spends her time equally between the clinic and doing research. Guro´s fields of interest​ are advanced drug treatment of inflammatory rheumatic disease, biomarkers, drug monitoring, biosimilar medicines, synovial biopsies and autoimmunity.

Janis is a bioinformatician and data scientist. During his PhD, he has worked on methods development and biomarker detection using machine learning in the fields of transcriptional regulation, oncology and aging. Beyond that, he has work experience in human genetics and molecular diagnostics.

Researcher

Ricardo worked on advanced sequencing technologies while he was at Thermo Fisher. He is trained as a Veterinary Doctor, with a Masters in Virology, and a varied background in academia and industry. Since moving to Norway in 2010, he has worked with molecular biology and sequencing technologies, from research projects in environmental microbiology and risk assessment, to commercial service/support for molecular diagnostics and cancer research.

Mette is employed at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet and is a close collaborator in our R&D projects. Mette holds a Masters Degree in Biotechnology with a primary interest in the field of Molecular Biology. Chief Operational Manager (Fürst Medical Laboratories)

Nils works as the R&D lab manager at Fürst Medical laboratories and acts as liaison on our common R&D projects. Nils holds a master’s degree in genetic counseling, and a PhD in molecular biology. Nils founded the molecular biology department at Fürst and has since been responsible for both daily management and business development, for the molecular biology activities in Fürst. He publishes scientific articles regularly in laboratory fields such as clinical chemistry, microbiology and genetics

Håkon is employed at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) and works 60% on our common R&D projects. Håkon holds a master’s degree in cellular and molecular biology, and a PhD in molecular epidemiology. He has worked on several national and international research projects, focusing on infectious respiratory diseases, and on development of autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes

Jennifer is the Director of Research in the Division of Health Data and Digitilsation at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) where she is also a researcher in the Centre for Fertility and Health. She has interdisciplinary training in life-span development and genetics. Her research has exploited the twin design to conduct studies on a wide range of research questions including epigenetic studies, cancer, studies of social factors and health. Through a series of EU projects in genetic epidemiology she has also been active in developing initiatives for international biobank harmonization.

Senior Researcher (NIPH) / Associate Professor (U of Bergen)

Jugessur is a senior scientist at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) and an adjunct associate professor at the University of Bergen. He has multidisciplinary training in genetic epidemiology and has contributed numerous insights to this field of research. His team has secured several grants, which have helped spearhead a rich portfolio of research into telomeres and epigenetic age. One of the NRC grants is with Age Labs, where the aim is to develop a measurement of biological age in humans based on DNA methylation to accelerate the development of new therapies for age-related disease.
